The Haelan Group, a frequently cited success story in Indianapolis' life sciences development efforts, has sold itself to a Florida company. CareGuide of Coral Springs will pay $8 million in cash and debt and could pay up to $3 million more if Haelen meets certain revenue targets next year. CareGuide, a disease and care management firm, wanted Haelen's One Care Street product, which tries to identify high-risk employees before they require expensive medical care.
While I am pleased that another local company has created value worth buying, I am sorry to see another local business go!
