Offenders train the dogs to perform service work. After nearly 2 years of training, dogs are partnered with children/adults with disabilities. Dogs not qualifying after training to serve a person with a disability find new vocations that serve Hoosier communities.
In just 5 years, ICAAN has:
· placed 24 dogs in service with people with disabilities
· over 30 dogs currently in training
· placed 18 dogs to work as in-home therapy dogs
· placed 5 dogs in drug detection programs
